Urban League of Portland' Annual Awards Dinner & Reception

The Minidoka Swing Band, under the direction of Larry Nobori, will be playing at the Reception for the Urban League of Portland's Annual Awards Dinner. Performance time is 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Dinner follows at 6:30pm.

Mary, unfortunately we do not have a professional type recording, as of yet. Something we would love to do. All we have are amatuer videos of live performances. If we get something, I will definately post it on our web site so that you will know. Thank you for asking!

Mark your calendars - The Minidoka Swing Band will be performing at two upcoming events!

1) Oregon International Air Show - 9am to 11am - August 20 & 21, 2011

2) Washington County Museum - September 24, 2011 - Bring the family, a picnic lunch and enjoy an outdoor concert by the Minidoka Swing Band from 12 noon to 2:30 PM. The Museum will feature an exhibit which is on loan from the Nikkei Legacy Center entitled "Taken: FBI" and paintings by Sharon Inahara. Admission to the Museum will be FREE on this day.

IN MEMORIAM: Robbie Tsuboi: May 14, 1949-May 8, 2010

Our dear friend and founder of the Minidoka Swing Band has lost her hard fought 8 month battle with cancer. She was our light, our inspiration and our energy. She will be dearly missed.

We have had inquiries into donating to the band in her honor. If you would like to do that, please make checks out to "Minidoka Swing Band" and send in C/O Laura Baxter, 1968 SE Bush St., Hillsboro, OR 97123. All donations will be used for the good of the Minidoka Swing Band keeping Robbie's dream alive and continuing the Journey. Thank you to everyone who loved Robbie.
