Members of the Portland-based Minidoka Swing Band, formed in September 2007, as a tribute to Japanese Americans interned during World War II and to highlight the music popular in the Internment Camps. Affiliation: the Porland Japanese American Citizens League (JACL).

"We dedicate our band to our founder and creator, Robbie Tsuboi, 1949-2010, and who inspired us to continue being the Minidoka Swing Band!"

Seattle's NVC Foundation Memorial Wall Dedication

The Minidoka Swing Band was invited to participate in the dedication of the Seattle NVC Foundation's Japanese American Memorial Wall remembering WWII vets and internees of the the WWII Internment camps.  The dedication was held in Seattle, WA on Sunday, September 5, 2010.  See attached story for more information,  Our many thanks to the NVC foundation for including us in their dedication ceremony.

  1. We had a great time visiting with the people of the NVC and appreciated all the informative conversations. We were glad by playing the 40's swing music we were able to bring back fond memories of their youth and young adults.
